The meeting will take place at the MH Atlântico Congress Centre, located on Portugal’s Atlantic coast near Praia da Consolação, in the municipality of Peniche. Surrounded by coastal landscapes and within walking distance of the beach, the venue provides a distinctive setting in which science, nature, and community can come together.

Peniche is a coastal town approximately one hour north of Lisbon, deeply connected to the Atlantic and home to one of Portugal’s major traditional fishing ports. Its long maritime history is reflected in its historic centre, coastal fortifications, and strong fishing traditions. The surrounding region offers striking natural and cultural landmarks, including Cabo Carvoeiro, the beaches of Baleal and Supertubos, and the historic medieval town of Óbidos.

Just off the coast lies the Berlengas Archipelago, a protected nature reserve comprising a group of small islands with distinctive marine and terrestrial ecosystems. Located around 10 km from Peniche and accessible by boat, the archipelago is known for its dramatic cliffs, clear waters, seabird colonies, walking trails, and the historic Fort of São João Baptista. Together, Peniche and the surrounding Atlantic landscape offer participants opportunities for cultural and natural exploration alongside the scientific programme.

The MH Atlântico Congress Centre offers excellent conditions for scientific meetings, with a modern auditorium, fully equipped meeting and breakout rooms, dedicated areas for poster sessions and coffee breaks, and contemporary audiovisual facilities. Conference, accommodation, dining, and social spaces are integrated within the same venue, allowing participants to move naturally between scientific sessions and informal interactions. This setting is designed to promote discussion, mentoring, networking, and spontaneous scientific exchange throughout the meeting.

Participants will be accommodated in single-, double- or triple-occupancy rooms at the MH Atlântico. Rooms include a private bathroom, air conditioning, Wi-Fi, and a balcony. Meals will be served at the conference venue, further encouraging interaction among speakers and participants beyond the formal scientific sessions.

The venue is located approximately 80 km from Lisbon Humberto Delgado International Airport and can be reached in around one hour by road. Lisbon Airport has extensive connections with major European and international destinations. Peniche is connected to Lisbon by motorway and regular coach services, while taxis and private transfers are also available.
